Out inventory consists of many books that are bought from around the world. We travel throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom buying out-of-print books. And 99% of our stock really consists of hardcover out-of-print titles. This is unlike many so-called "used" bookstores that have huge inventories but stock a high percentage of remainders, publishers castoffs, academic rejects and paperbacks.
Some recent acquisitions include extensive collections on World War I, Graeco-Roman History, Western Americana, Medieval History, Civil War, Russian History and Americana. Thus our stock of 40,000 titles may well produce a better book-buying experience than stores with ten times the invetory.
St. Croix Antiquarian Booksellers also offers a fine selection of maps and prints. These are often pre-1990 hand-colored plates or lithographs taken from damaged books and atlases. Maps and prints such as these are unique and beautiful and can be much less expensive than something you'd get in an art gallery.
